Three Poems by Jade Beach

OM

 AUM –

Your every breath

Universe in mouth

Exhale the sun

E X P A N D

E X P A N D

For you are

The primordial…

– AUM

Between two eyes closed

Lies infinity

Unlock it

Slowly…

Slow the

B-beating

Cardinal wings

In chest

Not this body

You are

Unmanifest

Nothingness

The

Silent

–       AUM

Green Garden

Hands brushing the leaves, the leaves

Remembering

Fragments of Eden

Child again

Asleep on the sheets woven

With seasons

Veins climb the limbs broken

Intact for fleeting-

Moments a rare breed

Of time

I’m a moment with

A conscious

Newborn eyes

Mosaic seeing until

Film

Ends:

Hands holding the leaves, the leaves

Aged by youth

Passing

The garden once green

Now

Memory eaten

L’amour Est Mort

Fingers curl around

Light playing on wine glass

Lips never touching rim

Eyes never glance in

Aimed direction

Silent but for

Clattering plates

Trivial chatter

All ring untrue

Silent in their cocoon

Attempting a smile

She tries to convince herself:

“We did it for love

We just can’t remember why”
